An exploration licence is being applied for by Providence Resources
to drill for Oil or Gas
Planned off Dalkey Island in 2Ol2 about 6k from the shore.
Which will affect the whole of Dublin Bay.

A public meeting is scheduled for this Tuesday coming
31st January at    7.30pm
in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire

It is up to the individual or organisation, to object to the current application, in totality,
or not, or to request for the Public Hearing.

Note!. That any objections must be submitted before the 2nd February 2012.

At the Public meeting held Tuesday 24th Jan, the consensus was that was that the time frame to object to the granting of the licence was much too short, & that a lot more information was required,

See the Irish Times report of the meeting:-

To object :- you have three options.
1.  Send an email to one but preferably to both links below, outlining your reason, It can be very short stating that there is not enough time or the relevant information to make up your mind. Or use the draft letter below.
2.  Write a letter stating your reasons, as above.
3.  Fill out the on-line petition.

If you want to object :- To be sure, it would be best to do both 1, & 3, due to the time frame.

One can also send the above to any TD or local councilors who you may think would act on your behalf.

Legal notice was given January 5th- 2012 with an objection window of only 21 working days, with a closing date for objections being February 2nd 2012.
